Senior White House official reiterates U.S. commitment to Asia

NHK BS reported last night on remarks made on Tuesday by White House Indo-Pacific Coordinator Campbell, who reportedly said Putin’s war in Ukraine will not complicate U.S. commitment to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region. “President Biden has said that the United States’ deepest engagement in the 21st century will be with the Indo-Pacific region,” the senior White House official said. “He is determined not to change this direction even at a time when the administration is being called upon to get deeply involved both in Europe and the Indo-Pacific…. We should not stop paying attention to high tech trade, politics, and diplomacy in this region.”
