Yomiuri reported on the finding that the U.S. tariff on Japanese beef was substantially raised at the end of March since the low-tariff quota for beef from Japan, Brazil, and other nations had been filled due to an influx of beef from Brazil. Noting that the United States is the second largest importer of Japanese beef, the paper said this may affect Japan’s beef exports.
