At a directors’ meeting of the Lower House Committee on Rules and Administration held on April 7, the ruling and opposition camps agreed that deliberations on proposed revisions to the Temporary Tariff Measures Act and the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act aimed at strengthening economic sanctions against Russia will start start at a Lower House plenary session on April 12. Prime Minister Kishida Fumio will explain the purpose of the revisions and take questions from the floor.
