Nikkei reported that Farm Minister Kaneko told the press on Friday that the United States raised its tariff on Japanese beef at the end of March as its low-tariff quota for imports from such nations as Japan, the UK, and Brazil had been met due to an influx of beef from Brazil in 2022. According to the daily, the tariff was raised from almost zero to 26.4%.
