A new threat is brewing in cyberspace. The National Police Agency (NPA) detected a record number of cases of suspicious access in 2021 and 99.5% of them originated overseas. There are more and more cases of damage resulting from Illegal access and ransomware attacks targeting corporate information, and Japan must hasten to improve measures against cyberattacks originating in Japan and overseas.
