Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa held a telephone conversation with Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi on April 21, confirming that they will cooperate in their response to rising crude oil prices following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Hayashi said, “We look forward to Oman’s continued leadership in stabilizing the international oil market.” The ministers condemned the invasion of Ukraine. Badr said the United Nations plays an important role in areas such as international law and compliance with the UN Charter.
On the same day, Hayashi also met with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.
