On April 30, the Urasoe police in Okinawa Prefecture arrested a 23-year-old U.S. Marines Corps lance corporal affiliated with Camp Kinser on the spot on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence of alcohol) for driving a car while inebriated. The suspect denies the charge.

The allegation is that around 6:00 a.m. on April 30, the suspect was driving a standard-size car under the influence of alcohol beyond the legal limit (0.15 mg/liter of exhalation) on National Road 58 in the Gusukuma district, Urasoe City. (Personal name has been redacted.)
