Japanese, Italian leaders agree to maintain sanctions on Russia

The Thursday editions of all national dailies wrote that Prime Minister Kishida and Italian Prime Minister Draghi agreed during their talks in Rome on Wednesday that their nations will continue to impose strong sanctions on Russia and strengthen their support for Ukraine. The papers added that Kishida also visited the Vatican and held talks with Pope Francis. They agreed to work together to achieve a world without nuclear weapons and condemned the killing of civilians in Ukraine and agreed to step up efforts to restore peace there.
