LDP officials meet with Taiwanese leader

All national dailies wrote on Friday that five LDP politicians paid a courtesy call on Taiwanese President Tsai in Taipei on Thursday and agreed to oppose unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force and ensure stability across the Taiwan Strait. The Taiwanese leader reportedly expressed gratitude to Japan for attaching importance to Taipei, which she said will contribute to the prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region together with Tokyo. The Japanese visitors reportedly pledged support for Taiwan’s goals to obtain membership in the TPP and the WHO.
