U.S. service member arrested on DUI charges in Okinawa

Okinawa Times reported that the Okinawa police arrested on Sunday a 23-year-old U.S. service member belonging to Kadena AB on charges of violating the Road Traffic Law by driving under the influence of alcohol. The paper said the suspect is denying the charges, but the police detected more than three times the legal limit of alcohol on the suspect’s breath. The daily said the suspect was driving on a prefectural road in Minamitoubaru, Okinawa, at around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday and had a minor collision with a car driven by a Japanese woman. Neither the Japanese woman nor the suspect suffered any injuries.
