On June 3, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) said about 80,000 foreign students (preliminary figure) entered Japan in the period from April 1 to June 1 due to the easing of border control measures against the coronavirus. The MEXT says the number of foreign students entering Japan “is increasing steadily.”
