Monday’s Nikkei reported that on a Fuji TV program aired on Sunday Prime Minister Kishida expressed a cautious view toward the possession of a nuclear-powered submarine. The premier reportedly pointed out: “It would involve an enormous cost and the commitment of extensive human resources. There must be other things we can do before [possessing a nuclear-powered submarine].” Sankei carried a similar story.
