NHK reported online that a JMSDF training ship called at London on Wednesday as part of its months-long blue ocean training cruise, saying that it plans to conduct joint training with Royal Navy warships during the four-day visit through Saturday. The commander of the JS Kashima, which has a complement of 340, said the visit demonstrates deeper security collaboration between the two navies toward achieving a free and open Indo-Pacific. Visiting Japanese sailors will participate in sessions with their British counterparts to exchange views on the regional and international security situations.
