Japan, EU confirm close security cooperation

Yomiuri reported on a meeting between Prime Minister Kishida and European Council President Michel held on the sidelines of the G7 summit on Monday, during which they shared the view that maintaining security in Europe and the Indo-Pacific is essential and agreed to work closely to defend the international order. Kishida reportedly thanked Michel for visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in May, and Michel promised cooperation toward a successful G7 summit in Hiroshima next year.
