Former astronaut Noguchi to become IHI Corp. advisor

Noguchi Soichi

On June 27, IHI Corp. announced that [former] astronaut Noguchi Soichi will become its executive advisor effective July 1. Noguchi [recently] retired from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

 

IHI will apply Noguchi’s expertise and advice on space development to create new businesses and develop human resources.

 

Noguchi developed and tested jet engines as an engineer at Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (currently IHI) from 1991 to 1996. He was then selected as an astronaut candidate and joined the National Space Development Agency of Japan (currently JAXA).
