On Aug. 4, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the following personnel appointment:

• Iwamoto Keiichi was appointed Deputy Director-General and Deputy Assistant Minister of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau and of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department.
• Yamamoto Mondo was appointed a minister-counselor at the South Korean Embassy
• Matsuda Kenichi was appointed a minister-counselor at the Philippine Embassy.
