At around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, a U.S. military helicopter made an emergency landing at Miyakejima AIrport. Miyakejima (Tokyo) is an island in the Izu archipelago.

According to  the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s Miyakejima Police Station and the Ministry of Defense, the aircraft appears to have some [mechanical] problems. No one was injured.

The MOD has contacted relevant municipal authorities and is confirming the situation.

According to the Miyakejima Police Station, the aircraft had onboard at least three male and one female U.S. military personnel.
