Yomiuri reported that MOFA has decided to include in its budget request for FY2023 approximately 110 billion yen ($790 million) for infrastructure development in the Indo-Pacific region to realize a free and open Indo-Pacific. The overall budget request will reportedly be 796.1 billion yen, up by 105.7 billion from the previous year.
