U.S.-Japan summit may be held in New York

Sunday’s Sankei claimed that coordination is underway between the USG and GOJ to hold a meeting between President Biden and Prime Minister Kishida in New York on around Sept. 20 on the margins of the annual UN General Assembly session. The paper added that as the U.S. leader is expected to attend Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral at around the same time, the summit may not take place.
