LDP formulates draft proposal for strengthening intelligence analysis

On Sept. 30, the Liberal Democratic Party’s Headquarters for the Promotion of Economic Security, Policy Research Council (chaired by Amari Akira) compiled a draft proposal seeking to strengthen intelligence capabilities with an eye toward the revision of the government’s national security strategy. It will be soon be presented to the government.


The proposal includes such measures as posting officials in charge of economic security at major overseas diplomatic missions and immediately disseminating key policies in multiple languages. It also calls for building resilient supply chains by bringing production back to Japan and increasing stockpiles.
