Five opposition parties including the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDPJ) jointly submitted a revision to the Diet Act. The revision stipulates that the government must convene the Diet within 20 days of a call to convene an extraordinary Diet session based on the Constitution. The five parties that submitted the revision were the CDPJ, Nippon Ishin no Kai (Japan Innovation Party), Japanese Communist Party, Reiwa Shinsengumi, and Social Democratic Party. The Yushi no Kai, a parliamentary group, also joined the submission. The Democratic Party for the People did not participate.
