KYODO — On Oct. 7, U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel suggested celebrating Russian President Putin’s 70th birthday with a new Russian cocktail. “It’s a splash of vodka mixed with a double shot of failure and a twist of lunacy over ice,” he wrote in a sarcastic tweet.

“Happy Birthday Putin,” tweeted the Ambassador. “What do you get a 70-year-old autocrat for their birthday when they once had everything and now lost everything?” Dubbing the cocktail the “Putin Mule,” Ambassador Emanuel called on bars to serve it.
